Instrument for Mediated Terrain is a collaborative robotic sculpture project that explores the complex relational cycles of growth and death where
human-made technology meets nature. Here, the garden is a meditation on the relationship of the viewer to the artwork and the temporal state of all
forms of life.
As the viewer engages in the repeated process of mechanical impact to the growth within the garden, they can consider whether their presence contributes to a detrimental erosion - or to a progressive reshaping of nature. Materials: aluminum, moss, electronics and mechanical devices Collaborators: Blyth Hazen and Jennifer Hall For more information and additional images visit the project web archive | ![]() |
