The project Tipping Point: Health Narratives from the South End joins art, technology and anthropology in an installation made up of seven
large kinetic|interactive sculptures. Anthropologist, Dr. Ellen Ginsburg gathered health narratives during interviews with artists who live or work in and around the South End neighborhood of Boston. These narratives were then built into sculptures affixed to each of the "tipping" machines. Visitors to the exhibition navigate through the installation freely. As they enter the gallery data is gathered about them that is fed to a central controller that then shares the data with each individual machine. Jennifer Hall, Artist and Project Lead Ellen S.
